Ben Carter began his formal dance training at the age of seven.  Although he had opportunities to train and grow under the direction of several world-class instructors - e.g Joy Smith - it was under with the mentorship of Gary Kendall that his style really took form and developed. Ben worked with Mr. Kendall at Motion Pacific Dance Junction
during his middle and high school years in Santa Cruz, California. He was a member of such high energy dance troupes as City Heat and BoomSquad. In 2004 he began his
college study at Georgia Southern University.  He joined the Georgia Southern University dance team which successfully competed at the national level. In his junior year at Georgia Southern, Ben formed his own local Savannah-based troupe.  This troupe earned acclaim in the club scene in Atlanta and as the opening act for such
high-profile concert artists as Ciara and Bobby Valentino. During his junior and senior years at Georgia Southern, Ben was a featured dance instructor within the University Recreation program. In addition to teaching classes, Ben managed the hip-hop division of the University dance program. He currently resides in Santa Cruz and performs with Beat Techniques dance crew in addition to choreographing and teaching regularly scheduled of hip-hop and breaking classes.
